Hi   my name is Jim Pearson 

We have set up this Heritage web site, in order to bring to peoples attention the lack of concern by Salford City Council over the condition of the Irwell Valley in the area of Pendlebury / Clifton. Currently there are parts of the valley that are a discrace, and bring shame on a council that spends millions in other districts of Salford on regeneration projects.

     It is our intention to high-light these black-spots and make everyone aware of the wonderful opportunity that is being lost to the community. We will not be looking to lay blame anywhere, nor are we political, we will not have this site used to score points against any persons or orginizations.

That said i will now setout our objectives. It is our intention to create a place that is both safe and pleasent for family's to enjoy, without fear or intimidation from the less desirable elements in our society. (we will attempt to get them to help us). The areas of degradation will be cleaned up and all areas made accesible. 

We  are all familiar with the phrase (especially around here), I'v heard it all afore, tha'l get no wer wi this lot". For my self i can only say " if you do'nt try ,you'l never know. This project can only succeed with the communities say so. Please get behind us and help not hinder. I know this area very well, i have lived here all my life, as have my parents and grand parents, it's never been a pretty place but it's always been my home and it sickens me to see it being side lined and negletted, but i know that nobody else is going to do anything to improve it, so lets get on with it and make it place to be proud of. 

Over the coming months we will report our progress.
